Jessica Moss – Owner/Instructor
Jessica Moss graduated from Indiana University in 1988, receiving degrees in
Modern Dance as well as Theatre & Drama. Jessica is a founding member and soloist with Blue Wing Dance Co., in New
York City where she has premiered Maryse Jacobs' Stillness of Deer, Haunted Red, Grace and Parallax.
She has also performed in New York City with The Wellspring Project and Inner Landscapes Dance Theatre. In November 1999
she traveled to Almada Portugal
with Blue Wing to perform in The VII Festival of Dance in Almada.
Jessica has also danced with Philadelphia based dance companies, Convergence-Dancers
& Musicians, Ausdruckstanz and The Opera Company of Philadelphia. With Convergence, she has danced in Philadelphia, New York, Washington D.C. and Chicago. In 1994 she traveled to Poznan,
Poland to perform and teach at The Polish Dance Theatre's Biennale of
Contemporary Dance.
With Tsunami Productions, Jessica has collaborated and performed her own choreography
and improvisation duets with composer/pianist Paul Fejko throughout New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia. They have performed in Philadelphia at The Trinity Centre for Urban Life, Gloria Dei (Olde Swedes') Church, in Trenton New Jersey with
MAGNET Theatre Company and at The College of Staten Island. In November 2001, they traveled to Lyon France to perform with ballet master Gilles Brinas and his dance/music
company, Heyoka, at The Festival Eschappe Belles.
Jessica'a choreography was featured at St. Mary's Cathedral in Trenton N.J. in performance with The Trenton Symphony Orchestra for The Concert for the Bishop's Appeal in 2001. Other works have
been performed by The Mercer Dance Ensemble, TsunamiDance Ensemble, The Southern New Jersey Academy of Performing Arts, The Lawrenceville School and Elysián Dance Company. In November
2005, she was commissioned to choreograph The Chamber Arts Guild’s production of Menotti's "The Unicorn, The Gorgon
and The Manticore."
Other choreographers with which she has worked and studied include Gray Veredon,
Susan Bernhard, Douglas Dunn, Gloria McLean, Beverly Brown, Cathy Ward, Bill Evans, Ewa Wycichowska and Janaea Rose
Lyn. She has performed many roles such as, The Sorceress with Pennsylvania Pro Musica in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas, The
Gorgon with The Philadelphia Singers in Gian Carlo Menotti's The Unicorn, The Gorgon and The Manticore, and The Exorcist
in Ewa Wycichowska's Satan in Goray.
In 2001 she became the artistic director/coordinator of the dance program at The
Mercer County Performing Arts High School and worked for four years to develop the dance program curriculum.
Her most recent project at the Mercer County Performing Arts High
School was director/choreographer
of Gian Carlo Menotti's "Amahl and the Night Visitors".
After receiving
her New Jersey State Teaching Certification in 2002 from The College of New Jersey, Jessica served on the N.J Dept. of
Education's Exit Test Task Force developing the Performing Arts High School Exit Exam and is currently working as a content
expert for The Thomas Edison State College's Prior Learning Assessment program.
Jessica continues to choreograph for musical theatre and has created dances for "Lucky Stiff",
"The Wizard of Oz"and "Mame" as well as teach Modern Dance, Ballet, Belly Dance and Pilates to children and adults
